Below you will find all of the details for our upcoming two weeks (11/23/20-12/05/20). Remember to always check richardsonband.org for the most updated schedule.

All students MUST take their instrument(s) home to PRACTICE and have it for the November 25th game (opt-in marching band)!

Richardson vs Lake Highlands Football Game 11/25 (AWAY)

All students will need to eat ON THEIR OWN prior to the game.
Sousaphones, battery and front ensemble instruments will be the only instruments loaded on the trucks. If you are not riding the bus, we will load/unload your instrument at Richardson High School. However, you will be responsible for unloading/loading your instrument at Lake Highlands High School.
Schedule:
If you are riding the bus:
10:45 AM – Arrive (9:30 AM for percussion) @ Richardson High School
11:15 AM – Departure (RHS)
11:45 AM – Arrive (LHHS)
1:00 PM – Game Starts
3:30 PM – Game Concludes; estimate time
3:45 PM – Departure (LHHS)
4:10 PM – Arrival (RHS); estimate time

If you are not riding the bus:

11:45 AM – Meet @ Lake Highlands on the VISITOR side.
3:30 PM – Game Concludes; estimate time. Dismissed for pick-up

Winds, percussion and color guard attire will be the following: GEB T-shirt, GEB mask, GEB jacket, GEB Pants, lanyard, long ankle socks and tennis shoes.
Students will not wear hats, sunglasses or jewelry. Long hair should be pulled back out of their face in a pony tail. This will make us look uniformed. Students may have their phones to make calls once the game concludes. However, students will not be allowed to be on their phones during the game. A tweet will also be sent out (@RHSGEB) at the conclusion of the game that will also show up on the band website.
Plastic water bottles will be provided to all students. STUDENTS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO PASS WATER BOTTLES TO EACH OTHER. Our parent volunteers will be the only people allowed to pass out water to each student (while wearing gloves). Students must drink all water before receiving a new water bottle (when needed). We will have bags to recycle plastic bottles at the end of the night. Again, each student will place their empty bottle in bag as volunteers come around.
Chaperone information – Due to a 35% stadium capacity restriction, chaperones will be very limited (unlike in the past). All selected chaperones will come at 12:00 PM and check in with the director at the VISITOR gate. Chaperones will have an assigned spot in the stands beside the band and must keep as much social distancing throughout the game when helping. All must be wearing masks. Volunteers on the list must also fill out a RISD background check at https://risd.voly.org. This link is the volunteer health screener and must be completed before entering stadium: https://risd.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_01lrwuMafUtenXv. Chaperones must show the director a green light on their phone before entering (just as we have been doing the screening with the students). We will take your temperature on-site but you can complete the screener before attending the game.
Drop-off and pick-up will occur on the away side of the stadium. Below are the options for transportation to games:
Student walks to Lake Highlands
Student is transported to Lake Highlands via parent private vehicle (carpooling is not allowed).
Student drives themselves to Lake Highlands in their own car (students are not allowed to transport other students).
Student rides bus to Lake Highlands

Tickets will be available to families of all participants to purchase starting on Saturday morning until Monday night at 11:59pm since the game is on Wednesday. This code is only valid for a one time purchase.  You will need to be ready to buy ALL of the tickets you need when you enter the code the first time.

Again, it is very important to know the number of tickets that you want to purchase (up to four) prior to purchase. If you login and use the code, you cannot login again another time because the code will not reset. If you login and it logs you out because you waited too long, you will not be able to log back in.
 
Parents will use the code student id + date of game (ie 123456-1125)

Band Fees Reminder

Please continue to make payments (if you have not done so). This is very important to the financial responsibility and operations of the band program. All fees MUST be paid before the end of the fall semester.

You can pay to the band safe (in the band hall) or online. As a reminder, you CAN make partial payments both in person or online (click on the pencil on the invoice for online). If you have any questions or need your invoice again, please contact our treasurer at richardsonbandtreasurer@gmail.com.
