Fundraising is more important than ever for the Golden Eagle Band. Due to IRS rules we are no longer allowed to put fundraising money into individual student accounts to use toward band fees, trips, etc. That means that we ALL need to work even harder at fundraising, to earn enough money to bring EVERYONE’S band fees & trip costs way, way down!
Here are some Fundraising Projects, some of which occur annually, and some are always available:
- AMAZON SMILE ACCOUNT – AVAILABLE ANY TIME! Make your Amazon purchases go a little further by selecting Richardson High School Area Band Club. Start every purchase at smile.amazon.com and Amazon will donate 0.5% of each eligible purchase to the GEB! Learn more about this program here.
- KROGER – AVAILABLE ANY TIME! Every time you shop at Kroger with your loyalty card, the Golden Eagle Band wins! Select Richardson High School Area Band Club Account BK510 for your preferred Community Rewards recipient and a percentage of your shopping proceeds will be sent to the GEB.
- MARCH-A-THON – This is our main fundraiser, generally held in September each year, where the WHOLE BAND pulls together to get a minimum of $250 per band member in donations. More information is provided on the March-A-Thon link to the left on this page.
- EVENING OF JAZZ – Each Spring, Richardson High School hosts a Jazz Concert and Silent Auction Fundraiser. This evening is filled with jazz music performed by our own Award Winning RHS Jazz Band, delicious desserts, and fabulous items to bid on at the silent auction. The money raised helps support band activities and supply scholarships to ensure every student has the opportunity to participate for students in grades 6th-12th of the Richardson High School Attendance Zone. There are many ways you can show your support in addition to purchasing tickets and auction items.
- SPIRIT WEAR – Our amazing Spirit Wear team sells THE BEST assortment of RHS spirit wear, gear & accessories at school registration, Friday night home football games, and other events throughout the year. Be sure and visit them to get decked out in all your RHS finery. - BAND SPIRIT NIGHTS – Several times during the school year we will announce that a local restaurant will be donating a portion of a particular evening’s receipts to the band. Just show up on the designated date & time with as many friends and family as you can find, mention the GEB when you buy dinner, and enjoy the fellowship and food – the Golden Eagle Band will then get a nice check from the restaurant!
