Richardson vs Garland Home Football Game 10/02

STUDENTS – ITS GAME DAY! MAKE SURE TO WEAR YOUR GOLDEN EAGLE BAND T-SHIRT DURING SCHOOL (IF YOU ARE A FACE-TO-FACE STUDENT). LETS SHOW EVERYONE OUR PRIDE AND SPIRIT!
The first football game of the year is on Friday, October 2nd.
When the bell rings, face-to-face students will come to the band hall to grab their woodwind/brass instrument and guard equipment (one student will be allowed in the locker room/guard room at a time). Everyone will exit the building; the fine arts wing will not be a place to hangout.
All students will need to eat ON THEIR OWN prior to the game. For some face-to-face students, this will be a quick turnaround so please plan ahead.
Sousaphones, battery and front ensemble students will arrive to the band hall by 5:30 PM to grab their instruments and take them to the stadium (through the school).
All other students will arrive to the stadium by 5:45 PM (you may start arriving as early as 5:30 PM) with all of your items. A director will meet you at the front entrance gate and you will head to Section B or C where another director will guide you to your spot. Students will follow RISD guidelines of 2 seats in between each other and an empty row in front and behind. Please note that you must move quickly (while keeping social distancing) to your seat as we must be ready to warm-up/perform. You will bring instrument in case, GEB mask, flip folder, lyre and brass bell cover. Woodwinds will not use bag covers.
Winds and percussion attire for our first game will be the following: Golden Eagle Band T-shirt, Golden Eagle Band mask, black athletic shorts (Golden Eagle Band black shorts for returning students), black ankle socks and tennis shoes. Your attire will serve as your entrance ticket. Students will receive their shirt next week.
Guard attire for our first game will be the following: Golden Eagle Band T-shirt, Golden Eagle Band mask, and leggings (provided by the band program), black ankle socks and tennis shoes. Your attire will serve as your entrance ticket. students will receive their shirt next week.

We did not offer the students the option to purchase the GEB black shorts this year in order to keep the band fees to a minimum. Please do your best to wear all black, athletic shorts (school appropriate) if you no longer have your GEB black shorts or are new to the program. Please see link below for sample: www.target.com/p/hanes-men-s-7-jersey-shorts/-/A-76558706?preselect=54653591#lnk=sametab. We will wear our full uniform (jacket/track pants) for our 3rd game on Oct. 23rd

Students will not wear hats, sunglasses or jewelry. Long hair should be pulled back out of their face in a pony tail. This will make us look uniformed. Students may have their phones to make calls once the game concludes. However, students will not be allowed to be on their phones during the game. A tweet will also be sent out (@RHSGEB) at the conclusion of the game that will also show up on the band website.
Plastic water bottles will be provided to all students. STUDENTS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO PASS WATER BOTTLES TO EACH OTHER. Our parent volunteers will be the only people allowed to pass out water to each student (while wearing gloves). Students must drink all water before receiving a new water bottle (when needed). We will have bags to recycle plastic bottles at the end of the night. Again, each student will place their empty bottle in bag as volunteers come around.
Ticket information – Please see TWIGEB email for ticket information and clear bag policy. There are no season ticket sales this year.
Chaperone information – Due to a 35% stadium capacity restriction, chaperones will be very limited (unlike in the past). All selected chaperones will come at 6:00 PM and check in with the director at the gate. Chaperones will have an assigned spot in the stands beside the band and must keep as much social distancing throughout the game when helping. All must be wearing masks. If you are interested in volunteering for Friday’s game, please use this link: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0d45aca728a64-volunteers. Volunteers on the list must also fill out a RISD background check at https://risd.voly.org. This link is the volunteer health screener and must be completed before entering stadium: https://risd.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_01lrwuMafUtenXv. Chaperones must show the director a green light on their phone before entering (just as we have been doing the screening with the students). We will take your temperature on-site but you can complete the screener before attending the game.
Drop-off and pick-up will occur in front of the stadium. Below are the options for transportation to games:
Student walks to school.
Student is transported to RISD stadium via parent private vehicle (carpooling is not allowed).
Student drives themselves to RISD stadium game in their own car (students are not allowed to transport other students).
Student rides bus for our one away game (Nov. 27th RHS vs LHHS)
