Parents will come and visit with teachers in their classrooms throughout the evening by appointment.
RISD Chamber Music Festival 02/08/20
Please see attachment regarding CMF included on the TWIGEB email – it provides very important information, including final performance times! Please understand that locations will be different from the past (warm-up room, performance rooms, etc.)
The entry fee was due to the safe two weeks ago. Students should have paid $5 per solo and $5 per person per ensemble Also, if you have not paid your $50 accompanist fee, you need to take care of this at your next rehearsal/performance. Remember this payment goes directly to the accompanist.
All students should have an original copy of their solo and ensemble. Measures should be numbered and name/school should be written on the front page. You will hand this to the room monitor who will hand it to the judge to look at while you perform. Make sure you are ready to introduce yourself, the piece and the composer. Students in an ensemble should elect someone to speak for the group.
Please dress nicely for this performance (Sunday Best). Do not wear jeans, flip flops, or t-shirts. You want to not only play your best, but look your best.
On the day of the contest, you will want to show up early (approximately 45 minutes before your performance time). This will allow you time to find parking, find your performance room, and warm-up. Check-in at your room prior to your performance time. Sometimes, rooms are running ahead of schedule and you can perform early. On the other hand, rooms could also be running behind schedule and you may have more time to warm-up. After all of your performances have completed, you may leave. You will receive your judges sheets on Monday during your band class.
Let the directors know if you have any questions. The location for RISD Chamber Music Festival is Lake Highlands High School “H” Building:
1200 White Rock Trail
Dallas, TX 75238
*percussionists will be performing at Richardson High School.
