TMEA 9th Grade All-Region Results

It was a great day for the GEB at the 9th Grade All-Region auditions! Thank you to ALL of the freshmen who represented RHS and performed this past Saturday.

RHS had the 2nd most placed students in the entire region, which consists of 20 high schools! The Region Band Clinic and Concert will be on January 23 and 24 at Forney HS/North Forney HS (details to come in the spring semester)

Cookie Dough Fundraiser 11/18/19

All-Region Masterclasses 11/18/19, 11/20/19 and 11/21/19
The third round of all-region masterclasses continue this week. These classes will meet after school from 4:30 PM – 6:00 PM and are to aide students in their all-region music. They are require for Wind Symphony, Symphonic Winds and auditioning students in Symphonic Band/Concert. Please see below for dates:

11/18 – All Region Masterclass – Flute, Oboe, Bassoon, Euphonium/Tuba
11/20 – All Region Masterclass – French Horn
11/21 – All Region Masterclass – Clarinet, Bass Clarinet, Saxophone, Trumpet, Trombone/Bass Trombone

RISD Chamber Music Festival Solos/Ensembles Due 11/20/19

Original solo/accompaniment and ensemble are due on November 20th. Proof of purchase (receipt) will also be allowed. Please see email sent from Mr. McKinney for further details regarding the RISD Chamber Music Festival.

Honors Level Reminder (if applicable)

Honors Level Band papers (for those who signed-up) are due by Dec. 13th. Students must attend two professional performances or other performances approved in advance by the director each semester in the student’s respective Honors area.  Documentation of these performances will include a program and a minimum two page critique of each performance.  The paper must be typed 12 point, Times New Roman font, double-spaced and must reflect the writing quality, content, and construction expected of an Honors student. Students must also complete a research paper each semester on a topic approved by the director. The paper must be a minimum of six pages typed 12 point, Times New Roman font, double spaced, and include a work-cited page.  A minimum of three sources is required.  The paper must reflect the writing quality, content, and construction expected of an Honors student.
