Friday Full Day Schedule 09/14/18
4:30 AM – Arrive to the RHS Band Hall wearing your Summer Uniform (GEB black shorts, show shirt, ankle black socks and tennis shoes). You will not need to do show hair for the morning block; also, it is important to also not forget your purple water bottle (as we will be checking it at the later inspection time). Guard, please wear your tank and black leggings. At inspection lines, you will need your flip folder, lyre and dot book. At 4:45 AM, will move to the large gym in preparation for the CBS 11 Pep Rally!
The band (along with the Eaglettes, Cheerleaders, Eagle Guard, Desperados, AVID, Interact, Peer Mediators, Computer Science, Environmental Science, Communications, Homecoming Court, and Parade Organizers) will be performing/speaking at this event. The reasoning behind this great opportunity is to highlight Richardson High School for its outstanding organizations, showcase the only school in the district to receive all 7 academic distinctions, celebrate its long lasting, 50+ years Homecoming Parade tradition and see why our school has nationally ranked pep rallies. While the event is being recorded in the morning, RHS will be shown throughout the day on CBS 11.
In the morning, you will receive Dunkin Donuts and Starbucks Coffee. You will also receive 12 hours of service, as we are serving our community in different fashions throughout the day!
7:15 AM – CBS Pep Rally concludes. You will head to the stadium for our regular Friday morning rehearsal. DO NOT CHANGE OUT OF YOUR SUMMER UNIFORM. You will take your flip folder lyre and dot book.
7:30 AM – Marching rehearsal begins in stadium.
8:00 AM – Eaglette Rehearsal. We will perform Fireball and Confidence. There could be a chance we will perform We Got the Beat (rather than Fireball) this week just because it did not occur last Friday.
8:15 AM – Homecoming Court rehearsal. We will perform Unforgettable.
8:45 AM – Run-through of Movement I and II with props. You will be blocked all day (along with other participating CBS 11 pep rally school organizations).
9:15 AM – RHS Pep Rally
10:25 AM – Pep Rally Concludes/Head to Band Hall. At this time you may change out of uniform, if you would like to do so.
10:30 AM – Sleep/Rest in the Band Hall. You can bring sleeping bags, blankets and pillows; you are not bring blow up mattresses. You are not to leave the band hall (unless for restroom use). Your safety, you being rested and our performances later in the evening are too important! If there are any parents that would like to help monitor students in the band hall/help serve food, please let me know. (jesus.marquez@risd.org)
1:15 PM – Eat lunch. Pizza will be provided to all students! We will have cheese only and gluten free as options. You may bring your own lunch if you would like to do so. You are not allowed to go to the Eagle’s Nest, cafeteria, go off-campus or order food. However, your parents may bring food if you would like.
1:45 PM – Change back in Summer Uniform if you changed out of it. You will also need to do show hair.
2:00 PM – Inspection Lines/Load buses/Head to Heights Elementary (RISD buses) in shifts.
4:00 PM – RHS Homecoming Parade. The Golden Eagle Band will proudly march down Belt Line to perform in one of Richardson High School’s grandest traditions, the Homecoming Parade. This event occurs at the end of the school day on Homecoming Friday. You may wear your mum/garter during the parade.
Spiritwear parent volunteers – we can sell items in front of the school during the parade as long as we are not blocking the view of judges/spectators.
5:00 PM – Eat dinner (JC’s Burgers). Directly following the parade, head to the Eagles Nest for dinner. Note that the turn around for this week’s game is REALLY quick due to the fact that we are performing at Pre-Game so if you do not have a Football Meal Plan, you will probably want to bring your food to school that morning as you likely will not have time to go out and get something.
6:00 PM – Inspection Lines/Warm-up in Band Hall – remember to have your purple water bottle filled with water and follow all inspection line expectations before a game.
7:05 PM – Pre-Game Performance. We will perform for the Homecoming Court (Unforgettable) prior to the game. We will also perform Star Spangled Banner.
7:30 PM – Richardson vs Garland kick-off
Richardson High School – Eagle/Mustang Stadium
1250 W. Belt Line Rd.
Richardson, TX 75080
For halftime, we will perform for the Eaglettes (Fireball or We Got the Beat/Confidence) and then march Movement I and II of our show, Danza de La Rosa. Props will be incorporated.
At the end of the game, everyone will turn in their shoes and place them in the shoe rack outside of the uniform room.
Parents – we will NEED MANY volunteers for the football game. Mrs. Forssell will be sending out information so be on the look out and sign-up!
