2018 Band Registration Packet RELEASED!

Hello GEB,

Hope everyone is enjoying their summer! Today, the 2018 Band Registration Packet was released, which includes IMPORTANT information regarding: band registration times (July 28th), fees, release forms, pre-game meal options, signs, football tickets, media guide ads, March-a-thon, summer band schedule, school registration (August 13th), SAT/ACT/PSAT test dates, 2018-2019 Calendar of Events (UPDATED) and RABC board. Some of these items you have already received but are included once again for your convenience. If for some reason you did not receive this email, please email Mr. Marquez at jesus.marquez@risd.org. Notice that we are now offering the Golden Eagle Level which includes, but not limited to, a quarter page in the 2018 RHS Media Guide and special reserved seating at band concerts! Furthermore, congratulations to Nate Campbell for closing our first sponsorship! Nate was able to get Dr. Theilberg to commit as a sponsor, and we appreciate his efforts. Let’s build on Nate’s success and keep the momentum going to make the March-A-Thon the absolute best!

9th Grade Camp is from July 25th – 27th. Remember that this camp is required for all 9th graders and leadership (including attendance/logistics crew). Please wear athletic clothing, tennis shoes, sunglasses, apply sunscreen and bring your marching instrument.

Band Registration is on Saturday, July 28th for both parents and students. Please see schedule for assigned times. Plan for event to last up to 2 hours and understand that our band parent volunteers work extremely hard to make it run smoothly for you.

Full Band Camp starts on July 30th and it is required for ALL students in the program (9th-12th). Please see schedule in packet.

Our Band Party for ALL STUDENTS will on Friday, August 3rd from 5:30 PM – 8:30 PM. There will be food, movies, board games, video games, volleyball and basketball – ALL FREE!!!

School Registration for all students in the program will be on Monday, August 13th. Please see schedule in packet for assigned times.

Do not be discouraged by band fees; we have the lowest band fees in the entire region (out of 22 high schools) and there are payment plan options if needed on the day of band registration. During the school year there are MANY volunteer opportunities and parents, we NEED your help.

STUDENTS – remember that when you return for Full Band Camp on July 30th, ALL of your show music (Pre-Show, Movement I, Movement II and Movement III) is to be memorized. The mp3 was emailed out.

The All-State Band Music will be released at noon on Monday, July 23rd at 12:00 PM. Please click the links below for audition materials – books/etudes.

We have hired a new saxophone lesson teacher, Mr. Quan Guo, in addition to Mr. Roy Allen. Please contact Mr. Guo and get your lessons started!
