Financial Aid Application Reminder – DUE MAY 18th
The window to apply for Golden Eagle Band financial aid has now been opened for two weeks. You must click on the “submit” button at the end of the application for us to receive it. You will receive a confirmation email that your application has been received.

A limited amount of financial aid is available to assist students who would otherwise be unable to participate in the Golden Eagle Band due to financial constraints.  Aid will be limited to assistance with either band operations fees or private lessons fees.

All applications must be submitted online by end of day Friday, May 18. Late applications will not be accepted or considered.

Key Points To Remember When Applying:

1. Parents/guardians and students have sections to complete in the application.

2. Students are required to write an essay describing their goals as a member of the RHS Golden Eagle Band and why they are deserving of the RABC’s investment in them with financial aid.

3. Parents are required to state why they are seeking financial aid and how it will assist their child.

Band Banquet Reminder (RSVP) EARLY May 15th / FINAL May 21st

The “Magic of Gatsby” banquet is quickly approaching. Please see attached invitation. To RSVP, visit https://richardsonband.org/bandbanquet. All parents and band students are encouraged to attend to celebrate our many successful moments throughout the year! (We request siblings wait until their turn to attend the banquet as a band member so it will be special to them.)

Seniors – this is it! We want to make sure you are represented but you must complete the information needed.  You will need to RSVP or you will not have a meal, and your account needs to be at a zero balance to receive your free ticket. Senior Reminders

Please submit 2-3 pictures (baby, child, current) to Mr. Reyna (ryan.reyna@risd.org) for the band banquet slide show.
Start working on your senior skit/senior speech. Deadline is May 17th to submit for approval.
Band fees must be paid in full by May 25th. Graduation tickets will not be released unless fees are paid.

Banquet Details

Friday May 25th at Hyatt Regency Richardson – 7pm to 11pm.

Early Bird Tickets are $30 per person until midnight on May 15th. Payments can be made via Check or Money Order made out to RABC and placed in the band safe.

After May 15th, tickets will be $37.50 per person (credit card only) to treasury@richardsonband.org. Final ticket sales is May 21st at midnight. Tickets will not be sold at the door so get your tickets for this event now.

Dress is Semi-formal. Seniors will enter the dining area at 6:45pm for seating. The doors will open at 7:00pm for general seating. Please make sure to sit in your student’s grade section.

Leadership Auditions 05/14/18

If you are trying out for any leadership role, remember that auditions will be held Monday, May 14th starting at 4:30 PM in the band hall. Front ensemble and color guard are excused from these auditions.

Please check your audition time on the whiteboard located in the front of the band hall. Below are audition dates for this week:

Percussion Concert 05/17/18

The percussion concert will start at 7:30 PM in the RHS auditorium. ALL students and parents are encouraged to attend.

Percussionists – please see Mr. Schmuck and Mr. Muzquiz for details.

WWJH Performance 05/19/18

The Golden Eagle Band will be performing for the current 5th graders who are picking out their instruments this Saturday, May 19th. This event is required for current leadership and drumline. All others are welcomed (especially those trying out for leadership). Percussion and sousaphones will be transferred to WWJH on Friday. Everyone else, please remember to take your marching instrument home on Friday.

STUDENTS – PLAN YOUR VACATIONS, JOB SCHEDULES, DOCTOR APPOINTMENTS AND SUMMER CLASSES AROUND THE BAND SCHEDULE.

Students who fail to attend/show up late to all camps, are unprepared musically/physically for the activity or are a distraction to others during rehearsals will not be placed in a marching spot, regardless of grade level, ensemble placement or experience. This also includes grades (and grade history). A student can be removed at any point in the season should any of these items occur.
