Chamber Music Festival Information
THE DEADLINE TO PAY FOR CHAMBER MUSIC FESTIVAL IS THIS FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 2nd! Please turn in your money to the band safe. Make checks payable to RABC.
Solo=$5
Ensemble=$5 per person per ensemble
If you are using one of Mr. McKinney’s accompanists, you will have two rehearsals before the contest. He will send out and post all schedules as soon as all dates and times are locked down (this week). Those rehearsals will start on February 5th. At that time you should be able to play all notes and rhythms with a high rate of accuracy. If you attend a rehearsal unprepared, you are wasting time and money!
Plan to pay your $50 accompanists fee at your FIRST REHEARSAL (do not place in the band safe). Cash would be preferred but if you pay by check, make your check payable to the actual accompanist (again not RABC). You will find out the name of your accompanist when Mr. McKinney posts rehearsal times.
Performance times will likely be available the week before the contest on the 24th. Your actual performance will take less than 10 minutes, HOWEVER, you should arrive at least 45 minutes before your performance time to allow time to park, find your room, and warm up. If you are also playing an ensemble, you may have a long break between performances. PLAN TO BE THERE MOST OF THE DAY IF YOU ARE DOING A SOLO AND AN ENSEMBLE! Mr. McKinney has very little control over performance times this year. He will do his best to accommodate your schedule but he can not make any guarantees.
