TMEA Region 3 Clinic and Concert Recap

Outstanding performances from all five ensembles! I hope it was a great experience for all who participated.

Winter Guard Competition #1 01/20/18

The first contest of the season is here! The winter guard will be traveling to James Martin High School on Saturday, January 20th and performing at 12:30 PM (JV) and 3:10 PM (Varsity). Make sure to go out and support them!

Eagle Celebration Performance Details 01/23/18

Full Band:

6:00 pm – Inspection (warm-up, run-through of pep tunes)
6:30 pm – Move to auditorium
6:45 pm – Performance of pep tunes
7:00 pm – Move to band hall
7:05 pm – Dismissal

Drum Majors, Section Leaders (including percussion) and Wind Symphony tenor sax/bari sax:

7:05 pm – Run-through of Alma Mater with RHS Orchestra in the band hall
7:10pm – Move to auditorium
7:18 pm – Performance of Alma Mater
7:30 pm – Dismissal

Attire: Purple Dri-fit shirt and jeans.
What to bring: Marching instrument, flip folder and lyre.

This event will count as a performance grade. Colorguard and front ensemble (excluding cymbal players) are excused.

Richardson vs Pearce Basketball – Drumline Performance 01/23/18

Following the Eagle Celebration performance, the drumline will be performing at the RHS vs PHS Basketball game. The game should conclude by 9:00 PM.

Musical Rehearsals (if applicable)

As a reminder our pit orchestra musical rehearsals for this week are:
Wednesday, Jan. 24: 4:30 PM – 8:00 PM (Choir Room)
Thursday, Jan. 25: 4:30 PM – 6:30 PM (Choir Room)
Saturday, Jan. 27: 1:00 PM – 8:00 PM (Band Hall/Auditorium)

Wind Symphony 8th Grade Recruiting Event 01/26/18

Students in the Wind Symphony will be traveling to Richardson West JH and Westwood JH on Friday, January 26th and rehearsing side by side with the top two ensembles at each school. Students will be blocked for the day. Students – please ask teachers for classwork in advance.

Schedule:

7:00 AM – Low Brass Sectional (if applicable)
8:20 AM – Wind Symphony Rehearsal
9:50 AM – Depart for RWJH/WWJH (split half and half)
11:05 AM – WS students at RWJH load and depart for WWJH
12:15 PM – ALL WS students at WWJH load and head to RWJH
1:15 PM – Depart for Cicis
3:00 PM – Arrive at RHS
3:15 PM – Go to 7th period

Lunch will be a little later on this day; students will have one of three options:

bring a snack and $7 for Cicis buffet (includes drink)
bring $7 for Cicis buffet (includes drink)
bring own lunch

Mattress Palooza 01/27/18

Our Mattress Palooza fundraiser will be this Saturday, January 27th from 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM in the RHS Band Hall; please continue to spread the word. Sign-up sheets will be available Monday after school for student volunteers; students may sign up for one, two or all three shifts – service hours will be awarded and the best part is that you get to wear a mattress costume!

Shift 1: Check in 9:30 AM, volunteer from 10:00 AM – 12:30 PM
Shift 2: Check in 11:30 AM, volunteer from 12:00 PM – 2:30 PM
Shift 3: Check in 1:30 AM, volunteer from 2:00 PM – 4:30 PM

Lunch/dinner will be on your own.
