Winter Concert 12/06/17

All family and friends are invited to our first concert of the year! Concert begins at 8:00 PM. The ensemble director will communicate call-time for students.

Two grades will be taken at the concert:

Participation grade – in order to receive full credit, students must:
• Be on time for call in the band hall with ALL materials (including concert attire). NO PHONES DURING PERFORMANCES
• Strike the stage and sign-out once the concert has concluded

AND

Performance grade – in order to receive full credit, students must:
• Maintain a sense of professionalism from beginning to end
• Perform to the best of your ability

As a reminder, concert attire is as follows:

Gentlemen: black tux shoes, black socks, tux pants, white tux shirt, black bow tie, black cummerbund, black tux jacket, clean shaven

Ladies: black concert dress shoes, black pantyhose/tights, black concert dress, n0 jewelry, hair back (ponytail)

Parents – Concert location is the Richardson High School Auditorium. Please come in through the glass auditorium doors, which face Belt Line Rd. The door on the west side (Dogwood Dr.) of the school will be opened for handicap access. Our wonderful parent volunteers will be ushering this evening. Please understand that they are monitoring access into the auditorium. This is important because no one should enter while a band is performing. Please silence all electronic devices, and no flash photography when taking pictures. This is a distraction to the performers onstage and can possibly be heard in the recording.

If you are a parent volunteering for ushering or stage crew, please arrive by 7:30 PM and wear all black. The West/Westwood Junior High bands will be performing prior to the Richardson High School bands. Doors to the Richardson High School Concert will be opened at 7:45 PM. Call times for the students are all different due to their performance time; please check emails sent by ensemble director for details.

There may be or may not be goodies at the concert. You are more than welcome to enjoy these delicious holiday treats before or in-between performances. Please do not take food or drinks into the auditorium – they MUST stay in the lobby. Restrooms are also located in the lobby.

The students are very excited to perform for you. Please come and support them! Directors will be available for pictures after the concert. Every student must stay for the entire concert to support their peers as well as to strike the stage, band hall and orchestra room. Students are also to change out of their concert uniforms. With that said, parents, please plan on staying and waiting for the students about 15-20 minutes after the concert due to the logistical aspects that occur after a concert performance.

The order of performances for this evening is as follows:

? Jazz Band (foyer)
? Concert Band
? Symphonic Band
? Symphonic Winds
? Wind Symphony
