Hello GEB,
Students – thank you for an outstanding first home game, after party and March-a-thon! Due to your efforts we were able to fundraise $27,656.08!
Parents – thank for making Friday and Saturday run SO smoothly. The directors and students truly appreciate you!
This week is our bye week but it is probably one of the most critical weeks of the season as we will be working to learn the rest of the show. Please see below for details (09/18/17-09/23/17):
Regular Rehearsals Continue
We are starting drill for Movement III on Monday, so remember to write your sets in your dot book! As always for rehearsals, you will need to bring your dot book/pencil and have all of the music memorized to Movement III.
I wanted to remind you of one rehearsal exception below (that has been on the calendar since May):
Friday, October 6th: 9:00am – 12:00pm. There is no school on this day but there is a rehearsal with a clinician in the morning and a game that evening. Game Meal Plan will be provided just a little earlier than usual (3:45pm). After loading instruments, students will have a break from 12:30pm – 3:45pm.
Our first marching competition (Little Elm Marching Classic) will be the following day on Saturday, October 7th!
Grades
Parents/students – Please log into FOCUS. If there are any classes you are currently failing or are close to failing, you MUST turn in any missing assignments and go to tutoring during lunch/after school this week.
Remember that you must be passing ALL of your classes by Friday, September 29th to be eligible to participate in any band activity.
Pizza Parties
On Monday and Thursday after school of this week we will have a pizza party for the summer band spirit week winners (flutes/trombones) as well as the top 20 March-a-thon sellers. If you are in one of these two sections and were a top 20 seller as well, remember to come get your $10 certificate to Dave and Busters. Students – You will only be allowed to attend one of the two days.
TMEA All-Region Music FREE Clinic Opportunity
The University of Texas at Tyler (UT Tyler) will also be doing a FREE clinic from 8:30 AM – 12:00 PM for all instruments (9th-12th grade) on the All-Region music (area/state) on Saturday, September 23rd.
