Being that we are the host school, ALL members of the drumline as well as drum majors are also REQUIRED to attend.

Spirit Night
Come support the Golden Eagle Band on Tuesday, December 8th at Palio’s. The spirit event will run from 3:00 PM – 9:00 PM. Please note – you will need to mention that you are with the GEB at the time of purchase. We will receive 20% of the proceeds.
Dress Rehearsals, Sectionals, and Winter Concert Call Times
Please check the GEB calendar and/or emails from your ensemble director which clearly layout times and dates. These rehearsals are crucial in our preparation for the winter concert. Remember that you receive a grade(s) for each one of these events.
Winter Concert
Our first concert of the year will be on the December 9th in the auditorium starting at 7:30 PM with the Jazz Band!
Students will receive two grades:
Participation – correct concert attire, music, instruments, on-time check-in, ACTIVE listening during other’s performances (no cell phones), tear down, sign-out. If a student does not sign-out at the end of the concert, the highest grade earned is a 50.
Performance – play to your best ability
ALL students are required to perform and stay for the entire concert, regardless of eligibility.
Parents – this is a great opportunity to volunteer! We need help with set-up and ushering.
Fitness Gram
It is a state requirement that any student receiving PE credit (marching band), must complete a fitness gram. On Dec. 10th and Dec. 11th students will be taking a fitness gram during their band classes, which we do every year. Students, please wear athletic clothing on these two days. We will be going outside for one of the days.
Honor Papers/Concert Critiques
All enrolled in honors credit band is to turn in their research papers/projects and concert critiques with programs by Dec. 11th to Mr. Marquez. Failure to turn in assignments will result in deduction of grade.
Semester Exam
Exams begin the week of the 14th. Students will be taking a written semester exam which will be composed of 50% percent of their grade during their band class. In order to receive the other 50% students must show proof of their solo (original, receipt, email confirmation). Most students have been recommended a solo by their lesson teacher or their ensemble director. Please place orders ASAP!
Thank you,
Mr. Marquez
