Regular Rehearsals Begin
Now that school has started, we will begin the regular rehearsal schedule of 7:00am-8:30am Monday through Friday. Please note a couple of important exceptions below:
Monday, Sept 7: No school/No rehearsal
Monday, Oct 12: Stadium Rehearsal 5-9pm – note that there is no school this day.
Family Picnic Details
The GEB will be performing at the 3rd Annual RHS Family Picnic this Wednesday, August 26th. This will be a low key event that should have you on your way home by roughly 8:00pm. Details are below:
5:15pm: Inspection/Warm-up in Band Hall
5:30pm: Sit in the stands
5:45pm: Eat hot dogs (free)
6:45pm: Sit in the stands
7:15pm: Fight Song
7:30pm: Confidence/Lips are Movin
7:40pm: Alma Mater
8:00pm: Approximate Dismissal
Uniform: 2015 “(EQ)librium” T-Shirt and khaki shorts. Note that we are NOT wearing the the summer uniform.
Required Materials: Instrument, flip folder, lyre
After our performance, you’ll be released to put away your instruments and join the festivities. All students should be ready for pickup by 8:00pm. The band hall will be locked at 8:15pm.
Drill Team Rehearsal
Each week on Fridays, we rehearse with the Eaglettes. This is especially important to note because ALL woodwinds, brass and drumline students must remember to bring their flip folders stuffed with this week’s drill team tune (which happens to be Lips are Movin this week). Anyone who forget’s his/her flip folder and drill team tune at this rehearsal will automatically fail inspection for this week so make sure you remember!

RHS vs Frisco Heritage (away)
The first football game of the year is coming up this Friday night! As always, full details can be found on the Official Band Calendar at www.richardsonband.org. Since it’s the first week, we’ll also detail them here via email.
When the bell rings to release school, dinner will be served in the Eagles Nest for those who signed up for the meal plan. Please note that this is only for those who signed up for the Football Game meal plan.
This will be a fast turn around week! The schedule for the night is below. Please note that we’ll be wearing the Summer Uniform this week.
Drill Team Tune: Lips are Movin
Dinner Served: 4:10pm (Cafeteria)
Inspection: 5:00pm
Depart for Frisco Memorial Stadium: 5:15pm
Kickoff: 7:30pm
Estimated arrival at RHS: 11:00pm
Summer Uniform: GEB Dri-fit shirt, GEB black athletic shorts, black ANKLE socks, marching shoes.
*if have ordered any marching uniform items, we will be passing them out in class this week.
