Topics of study for the RHS Percussion Department include: marching percussion, solo literature selection, music theory, percussion ensemble techniques in addition to group and solo performance opportunities.
At the completion of marching season, various percussion ensembles meet on Mondays after school. With regard to scheduling, during the Fall semester, all percussionists will be placed in 1st Period Band (Symphonic Winds).
Students audition for band placement throughout the Fall semester and will then be placed in one of the four competitive bands during the Spring semester.
