Christopher Bronson is proud to serve as the Fine Arts Coordinator and Director of Bands for the Richardson HS Cluster which includes Richardson West Junior High and Westwood Junior High. Before joining the RHS band staff, Mr. Bronson taught at Berkner High School and Liberty Junior High in RISD and Akins High School in Austin ISD.

Throughout his career, Mr. Bronson’s bands have consistently earned 1st division ratings at UIL Marching, Concert, and Sightreading Evaluations. He has served as an RISD Mentor Teacher and was chosen as an RISD Top Ten Teacher in 2019.

A DFW native, Mr. Bronson graduated from Mesquite High School and then went on to earn his Bachelor of Music Education from Southern Methodist University where he was awarded a Meadows Artistic Scholarship. While at SMU, Mr. Bronson studied clarinet with Mr. Paul Garner of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, and he even spent a semester abroad where he studied with Philippe Cuper, principal clarinet of the Opera National de Paris. Additionally, Mr. Bronson studied orchestral and wind conducting with Dr. Paul Phillips and Dr. Jack Delaney.

When he’s not directing the band, Mr. Bronson could be found participating in one of his many other passions like travel, cooking, fitness, investing, and learning foreign languages. His greatest hope is that Golden Eagle Band members are able to learn invaluable life lessons through the study of music and participation in band. If students can instill traits like teamwork, determination, dedication, and compassion as pillars of their character, Mr. Bronson believes that GEB students will go on to positively impact our world in whatever career path they pursue.
