Monday: 7:30am-11:30am<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tuesday: OFF (1st day of school–A Day)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wednesday: 7:00am-8:30am<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thursday: 7:00am-8:30am<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Friday: 7:00am-8:30am<\/p>\n\n\n\n

School Owned Instruments – Inventory Check<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

All School-Owned instruments should be brought to school for your first day of band class. Tuesday is an A Day, and Wednesday is a B Day. Therefore, Wind Symphony & Symphonic Band will do their inventory check on Tuesday. Concert Band & Symphonic Winds should bring all school owned instruments on Wednesday for Inventory Check.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

***Please feel free to enter the school through the \u201cBand Hall\u201d entrance in the mornings to drop off your instruments in your band locker.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

GEB New Parent Orientation<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

For those of you who were unable to attend on Saturday, click HERE<\/a> to see the slides and review the information. This might be worth a quick look even for veteran parents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

March-A-Thon<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are 22 days left until the September 6 deadline for all pledges and donations for our biggest fundraiser of the year! Cash and checks should be deposited into the band safe near the band director offices. All online donations should be made by September 6, as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Be sure you are addressing your communications to an actual person (not generic), and follow-up in person wherever possible. Typically it takes about 3 different contacts before a business will commit to a sponsorship level. Don\u2019t forget that business can make \u201cin-kind\u201d donations. For example, if it is a restaurant, they could supply the GEB with a meal for a competition in lieu of a monetary donation. Be relentless! The worst someone can say is \u201cNo\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Students\/parents should be signing up HERE<\/a> to approach your targeted local businesses to sponsor you in this 5k-style fundraiser. Please limit your first try to 2 businesses, unless you are personally adding new businesses to this list. To personalize the letters for businesses and personal contacts go HERE<\/a> to download the Word docs from the March-A-Thon packet. (All of these links can be reached from the home page of www.richardsonband.org<\/a>.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The March-A-Thon is a big part of why RHS has the lowest band fees in the district, and we want to keep it that way…but everyone must do their part to make it a success!<\/em><\/strong> We ask each student to reach a personal goal of $250 in pledges between businesses and personal networks. All funds are due September 6<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The regular weekly rehearsal schedule <\/em><\/strong>during school is outlined below. This schedule will begin on Wednesday, August 18:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mondays: 5:00pm-7:00pm<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tuesdays: 7:00am-8:30am<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wednesdays: 7:00am-8:30am<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thursdays: 7:00am-8:30am<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fridays: 7:00am-8:30am<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Back-To-School Picnic @ RHS: 6-8pm<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The GEB performs at the annual RHS Back-To-School Picnic. Attire will be our Elemental show shirt, athletic shorts, and athletic shoes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thursday, August 26<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Varsity Football Game: RHS v. North Mesquite (Home) – 7:00pm kickoff<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our first football game performance will be at home on a Thursday night. This is your first chance to see the GEB Marching Band in action! Attire will be the summer uniform which will be delivered and distributed sometime in the coming week.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
