May\/June Camps Cancelled<\/p>\n\n\n\n
From RISD – Richardson ISD\u2019s fine arts summer camps scheduled to take place at the end of May through the end of June have been cancelled. A decision about rescheduling these camps or holding camps that are currently scheduled for July will be based on guidance from health authorities and elected leaders. This includes private music lessons on campus as well as any camps off campus that involve RISD students and staff. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Leadership Videos Due TODAY 05\/11\/20<\/p>\n\n\n\n
If you are auditioning to be on the 2020-2021 leadership team, this is a friendly reminder that your Flipgrid audition videos are due today, Monday, May 11th by 11:59 PM. Please refer to the leadership email for more information. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Senior Zoom Weekly Meeting 05\/13\/20<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Band Auditions Continue This Week!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
French Horn\/Euphonium – Tuesday, May 12th by 11:59 PM
\nTrombone – Wednesday, May 13th by 11:59 PM
\nJazz – Friday, May 15th by 11:59 PM (please contact Mr. Schmuck for information)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

REMINDER – Audition videos will be submitted through Flipgrid (https:\/\/flipgrid.com\/richardsonband) under Band Auditions and will be due by 11:59 PM of your original audition date. Video submissions will be kept private. You will submit one video with all of the portions of the audition in the following order:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Articulation Exercise with metronome at quarter note = 80bpm, 110bpm OR 132 bpm. Again, you will only pick one tempo, not all three. If you do not have a metronome, type in the word metronome on Google or download a free app. Please let us know the tempo.
\nScales – Concert Eb Major, Concert A Major and Chromatic from your lowest to highest note that can be played successfully (no met).
\nPrepared Etude (no met)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
If Flipgrid does not work for you, please let Mr. Marquez know (jesus.marquez@risd.org) so we can figure out another platform for you to submit your videos. If you need to submit two Flipgrid videos that is okay as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A couple of things to mention:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We must be able to see your face and hands in the video.
\nYou must use an audible metronome for the articulation exercise.
\nSight-reading will be eliminated from the audition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
