Mark your calendars (9th-11th grade) – MANDATORY MEETING<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In an effort to update students and parents on changes and expectations of the marching band activity, Mr. Bradford, Executive Director of Fine Arts for Richardson ISD, will be presenting two sessions in RISD.  Topics will include UIL expectations, history of the marching arts, RISD expectations for marching excellence, and Marching Band 101. 2 opportunities will be available for students and parents to attend:

Leadership Auditions 05\/13\/19<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you are trying out for any leadership role, remember that auditions will be held Monday, May 13th starting at 4:30 PM in the band hall. Front ensemble and color guard are excused from these auditions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Band Auditions Continue 05\/14\/19<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Please check your audition time on the whiteboard located in the front of the band hall. Below are audition dates for this week:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

05\/14 – Trumpet Auditions
05\/15 – French Horn\/Euphonium Auditions

Percussion Concert 05\/15\/19<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The percussion concert will start at 7:30 PM in the RHS auditorium. ALL students and parents are encouraged to attend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Spring Game Performance 05\/19\/18<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Golden Eagle Band will be performing at the RHS Football Game. Please see below for event details:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Westwood Pep Band Performance 05\/19\/19<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Golden Eagle Band will be performing for the current 5th graders who are picking out their instruments this Saturday, May 19th. This event is required for current leadership and drumline. All others are welcomed (especially those trying out for leadership). Percussion and sousaphones will be transferred to WWJH on Friday. Everyone else, please remember to take your marching instrument home on Friday. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Marching Percussion Auditions 05\/19\/18<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The marching percussion auditions will be held on Saturday May 19th after the WWJH performance. For more information please see Mr. Schmuck and Mr. Muzquiz for details.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Band Banquet <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The \u201cCircus” band banquet is quickly approaching. To RSVP, visit https:\/\/richardsonband.org\/bandbanquet\/ All parents and band students are encouraged to attend to celebrate our many successful moments throughout the year! (We request siblings wait until their turn to attend the banquet as a band member so it will be special to them).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Seniors – this is it! We want to make sure you are represented but you must complete the information needed.  You will need to RSVP or you will not have a meal, and your account needs to be at a zero balance to receive your free ticket. (Senior tickets are non-transferrable). Please fill out your senior information on the link below:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Senior Reminders<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Please submit 2-3 pictures (baby, child, current) to Mr. Reyna (ryan.reyna@risd.org) for the band banquet slide show. Deadline to submit is May 10th.
\nStart working on your senior skit\/senior speech. Deadline is May 17th to submit for approval.
\nBand fees must be paid in full by May 23rd. Graduation tickets will not be released unless fees are paid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Banquet Details<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Friday May 24th at Hyatt Regency Richardson \u2013 7pm to 11pm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Early Bird Tickets are $33 per person until midnight on May 15th. Payments can be made via Check or Money Order made out to RABC and placed in the band safe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After May 15th, tickets will be $40 per person (credit card only). Final ticket sales are May 20th at 6:00 PM. Tickets will not be sold at the door so get your tickets for this event now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dress is semi-formal. Free photo opportunity at 6:30 PM for all. Seniors will enter the dining area at 6:45pm for seating. The doors will open at 7:00pm for general seating. Please make sure to sit in your student\u2019s grade section.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Physicals Required for 2019-2020 Marching Season<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Parents\/students – per UIL rules, students will now be REQUIRED to do a physical for the 2019-2020 school year. All students must have a physical complete before our July Camp, but it would be preferred if it was completed before our June Camp. You can go through your primary care doctor; insurance should cover the physical OR RHS will be offering an opportunity to complete a physical for $15 on Tuesday, May 21st in the RHS Freshman Gym from 4:30 PM – 6:30 PM. All students should have received a flyer at the GEB Orientation. If you did not, make sure to pick it on Monday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
