Spring Trip Recap<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We just arrived! Everyone had a blast and we are all back home safely. Thank you to our eleven wonderful chaperones who went above and beyond to help these past few days – the directors really appreciate you! Special thanks to our head chaperone, Krista Schaefer, for leading the way!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From a performance perspective, the GEB competed at the highest level at the Bluebonnet Classic Festival!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Concert\/Symphonic Band received EXCELLENT RATINGS
\nSymphonic Winds received SUPERIOR RATINGS and OUTSTANDING IN CLASS.
\nWind Symphony received SUPERIOR RATINGS and OUTSTANDING IN CLASS<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thank you students for a great trip – I hope that you all enjoyed it! Wind Symphony will start at 9:0o AM tomorrow – we are playing!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Leadership Help Session #1 05\/01\/19<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our first leadership clinic will be this Wednesday, May 1st from 4:30 PM – 6:30 PM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

RABC Board Meeting 05\/01\/19<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Parents – our next board meeting is on Wednesday, May1st at 6:30 PM in the RHS band hall. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Color Guard Meeting 05\/02\/19<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There will be a mandatory meeting on Thursday, May 2nd (7:00 PM – 7:30 PM) in the RHS Band Hall for all students auditioning for color guard. Please contact Ms. Maldonado (guard@richardsonband.org) if you have any questions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Contests Host 05\/03\/19 -05\/04\/19<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We will be hosting our first Director\u2019s Choice Festival this Friday, May 3rd (8:45 AM – 8:30 PM) and our first Texas Premier Performance on Saturday, May 4th (10:00 AM-5:15 PM). Sign-up times will be in the front of the room.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Financial Aid<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The window to apply for Golden Eagle Band financial aid is now open. You must click on the “submit” button at the end of the application for it to go through. You will receive a confirmation email that your application has been received and processed. A limited amount of financial aid is available to assist students who would otherwise be unable to participate in the Golden Eagle Band due to financial constraints.  Aid will be limited to assistance with either band operations fees OR private lessons fees. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

All applications must be submitted online by end of day Sunday, May 5. Late applications will not be accepted or considered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Key Points To Remember When Applying:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Parents\/guardians and students have sections to complete in the application.<\/li>
  2. Students are required to write an essay describing their goals as a member of the RHS Golden Eagle Band and why they are deserving of the RABC’s investment in them with financial aid.<\/li>
  3. Parents are required to state why they are seeking financial aid and how it will assist their child.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Band Banquet <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The \u201cCircus” band banquet is quickly approaching. To RSVP, visit https:\/\/richardsonband.org\/bandbanquet\/ All parents and band students are encouraged to attend to celebrate our many successful moments throughout the year! (We request siblings wait until their turn to attend the banquet as a band member so it will be special to them).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Seniors – this is it! We want to make sure you are represented but you must complete the information needed.  You will need to RSVP or you will not have a meal, and your account needs to be at a zero balance to receive your free ticket. (Senior tickets are non-transferrable). Please fill out your senior information on the link below:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Senior Reminders<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Please submit 2-3 pictures (baby, child, current) to Mr. Reyna (ryan.reyna@risd.org) for the band banquet slide show. Deadline to submit is May 10th.
    \nStart working on your senior skit\/senior speech. Deadline is May 17th to submit for approval.
    \nBand fees must be paid in full by May 23rd. Graduation tickets will not be released unless fees are paid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Banquet Details<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Friday May 24th at Hyatt Regency Richardson \u2013 7pm to 11pm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Early Bird Tickets are $33 per person until midnight on May 15th. Payments can be made via Check or Money Order made out to RABC and placed in the band safe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    After May 15th, tickets will be $40 per person (credit card only). Final ticket sales is May 21st at 6:00 PM. Tickets will not be sold at the door so get your tickets for this event now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Dress is semi-formal. Free photo opportunity at 6:30 PM for all. Seniors will enter the dining area at 6:45pm for seating. The doors will open at 7:00pm for general seating. Please make sure to sit in your student\u2019s grade section.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Physicals Required for 2019-2020 Marching Season<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Parents\/students – per UIL rules, students will now be REQUIRED to do a physical for the 2019-2020 school year. All students must have a physical complete before our July Camp, but it would be preferred if it was completed before our June Camp. You can go through your primary care doctor; insurance should cover the physical OR RHS will be offering an opportunity to complete a physical for $15 on Tuesday, May 21st in the RHS Freshman Gym from 4:30 PM – 6:30 PM. All students should have received a flyer at the GEB Orientation. If you did not, make sure to pick it on Monday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
