Winter Concert Information

Hello GEB,

Our Winter Concert will be on Wednesday, December 9th, in the Richardson High School Large Gym, so we can create appropriate distancing between band members and our guests.

We NEED 8 parent volunteers to make the night run smoothly. Please use the link below if you are available to help:

Concert Protocols:

Each student that opted in will receive 2 entry tickets for their specific performance. AGAIN, ONLY TWO GUESTS WILL BE ALLOWED IN THE LARGE GYM PER STUDENT PERFORMER. Please see email sent for entrance/exit flow.

Concert Band (Mr. McKinney) – Orange Tickets
Symphonic Band (Mr. Reyna) – Blue Tickets
Symphonic Winds (Mr. Schmuck) – Green Tickets
Wind Symphony/Jazz Band (Mr. Marquez) – Purple Tickets

Students will receive both tickets during their upcoming evening rehearsals.

Guests WILL NOT be officially screened at the concert similar to RISD athletic events. Individual pre-screening by family members/friends will need to be done prior to attending the concert. Guests will enter the large gym through the main doors (right side) and will quickly exit at the conclusion of their performer’s portion of the concert through the main doors (left side). All guests are to socially distance and wear a mask CORRECTLY at all times.

Students WILL be screened and will enter through the band hall doors, wear a mask, apply hand sanitizer, and then head to the large gym through the school while keeping a 6-foot distance (including during the performance). The only time for students to not wear a mask is during the performance (wind players). Students will take their case and music to the large gym with them.

As a reminder, once the student has completed their portion of the performance, they will need to leave with their family/guests.

Families with multiple students in the program will need to exit and re-enter the facility each time.

In order to keep things as contactless as possible, we will not be providing physical programs; there will be QR codes available for your convenience.

Mr. Vega will be the administrator on duty for the concert.

Seating:

Both sides of bleachers will be available for seating.

Every other row will be taped off with caution tape. Families/friends will need to socially distance and stay in groups.

In between performances, chairs/stands will be sanitized for the students.

Attire:

The attire for the concert will be the black Golden Eagle Band T-Shirt, jeans, and should you choose, your favorite festive (appropriate) hat.
