Important Updates Regarding Band Events – PLEASE READ

Hello GEB,

The district is canceling all after school campus assemblies/events and field trips for the rest of the week. How does this affect band?

No sectionals/dress rehearsals on Thursday and Friday.
Evening of Jazz Concert cancelled on Friday. We will attempt to re-schedule based on availability.
Wind Symphony will start at 9:00 AM on Friday.
Winter Guard Championships on March 28th have also been cancelled.

Just in case – EVERYONE take your Chromebook, music, mutes, and instrument home after school on Friday.

Spring Trip Information:

I wanted to address valid concerns surrounding our upcoming spring trip to Orlando. I want to ensure you that I will always be in close communication as I am notified by either our campus, district, or travel agent. The health and safety of our students is always our highest priority. As of right now, we have not received any information regarding the cancellation of this trip. Spring trip plans for organizations in different schools vary. Some are currently on their trip, some have been cancelled by their district, and some, like ours, are still planned until further notice. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions, but know that you are always up to date on any information I have. Please understand that I am doing all that I can to gather as much information as possible surrounding our trip. Should we cancel, it is important to note that there will be amounts that are nonrefundable. Unfortunately this is completely out of my hands, because deposits have been made. We will cross this bridge if we get there. I hope to have more information at our spring trip meeting on April 7th at 7:45 PM. Our chaperone meeting will occur after this meeting.
