The Golden Eagle Band earned straight superior ratings (SWEEPSTAKES) at the Region 3 UIL Marching Contest and will be advancing to the Area C UIL Marching Contest on Oct. 27th. Congratulations to all! Please see below for details this week (10/22/18-10/27/18); Area schedule will be released by Monday, Oct. 22nd.

Monday, October 22nd: Regular rehearsal as scheduled – 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM (location – stadium).
Tuesday, October 23rd: Regular rehearsal as scheduled – 7:00 AM.

As a reminder, we will rehearse in the STADIUM. Remember to bring their flip folder stuffed with this week’s drill team tune (which happens to be Hand Clap again).

STUDENTS – ITS GAME DAY! AFTER REHEARSAL ON FRIDAY MORNING, MAKE SURE TO WEAR YOUR DANZA DE LA ROSA T-SHIRT DURING SCHOOL. LETS SHOW EVERYONE OUR PRIDE AND GOLDEN EAGLE BAND SPIRIT!
The eighth football game of the year is this Friday, October 26th and its an AWAY game! As always, full details can be found on the Official Band Calendar at www.richardsonband.org. In order to be fully rested for our most important contest of the year, both Mr. Choat and Coach Pels have given us their blessing to leave after our halftime performance. We will send out a message through Twitter announcing that we are on our way home. This will also show up on the GEB website Twitter feed.
When the bell rings to release school, dinner will be served in the Eagles Nest for ALL students in the program. Please note that this is only for those who signed up for the Football Game meal plan.

Inspection Lines
Call time for students to meet in inspection lines is 5:15 PM (Band Hall). If a student fails inspection, the student will report to Mr. Marquez after the football game and will be assigned duties for the band during that time.
FULL UNIFORM: GEB Compression Shirt, GEB black athletic shorts, LONG black socks and marching shoes. Guard – Show Uniform
At the conclusion of the game, everyone will hang their uniform CORRECTLY and place shoes in the shoe rack outside of the uniform room. Once this is complete you may head over to the optional after party.
Parents – As always we will NEED many volunteers for the football game. Mrs. Forssell will be sending out information so be on the look out and sign-up!

Spring Trip (Corpus Christi) – Commitment Trip Form and NON-REFUNDABLE down payment ($100) Due 11/14/18
The 2019 spring trip information was sent in last week’s TWIGEB; packet included a brief information of the trip, payment schedule, TEA excused classes, trip commitment form, and cancellation form. The Trip Commitment Form is due to the band safe by November 14th along with your first non-refundable payment of $100. Student must be eligible after the 3rd 9 weeks to be able to attend the trip based on state guidelines. Failure to pass non-exempt classes, will result in not attending trip and money being unable to be refunded.
