Area Results

Thank you to the 15 students who participated in the TMEA Area C auditions this past Saturday. You have represented our school and district in great fashion and I appreciate all of your hard work. Additionally, Christopher Finch (senior, euphonium) made the 6A All-State Band! Christopher will be performing at the Texas Music Educators Association Convention in February.

Spring Trip Payment #3 Due – 01/09/17

Please turn in spring payment #3 ($100) to the band safe. Due date is Monday, January 9th; checks made payable to RABC.

01/09/17: 5:00 PM-8:00 PM (with vocals)

Mattress Palooza

Students – There will be a Mattress Palooza informational meeting (15 minutes) for all students during classes on Monday, January 9th.

Parents – There will be a Mattress Palooza informational meeting (45 minutes) for all parents at 6:00 PM on Wednesday, January 11th in the RHS band hall.

Late Cookie Dough Order Pick-up 01/12/17

Late Cookie Dough order pick-up will be on Thursday, January 12th at 4:30 PM in the RHS band hall. Please contact Idell Perkins for any questions.

All-Region Clinic and Concert 01/12/17 – 01/13/17 (if applicable)

If you are participating in the TMEA All-Region Clinic and Concert, please read over the email sent out last week with specific details regarding the event. Below are a couple of reminders:

In order to cover meals for the event, every participating student must turn in $25.00 by Thursday, January 12th. Please place cash or check in the safe located in the director’s hallway in an envelope labeled All-Region Clinic Meals. If you are paying by check, make the check out to RABC and in the memo line write All-Region Clinic Meals.

Transportation to and from Forney will be provided, except on Friday night. At the completion of the concert, students will checkout with a RHS director. Parents/legal guardians will pick-up student(s) at the end of their performance. Students will take their concert wear home and return it the following Monday.

Call time for Thursday is 4:15 PM; call time for Friday is 6:45 AM.

On Friday morning, inspection will occur in the in the band hall; students will need their instrument, music and all of their concert attire items in a uniform bag

Pep Rally 01/13/17
The last pep rally of the year is this Friday! The attire for the event is your Purple Dri-fit shirt and jeans. Anyone not wearing the purple Dri-fit or ineligible due to failing grades will be unable to perform with the band. Please have your flip folder, lyre and marching instrument. Call time will be 9:00 AM in the RHS band hall.
*this pep rally is very important! 8th graders from all over the district will be invited to come see our campus and learn about the magnet programs. It is imperative that WE bring our A game in discipline, spirit and musicianship. You will decide if these 8th graders will 1) come to RHS for a magnet program and 2) stay in band, so lets make it count!
