TWIGEB 09/05/16-09/09/16

Hello GEB,

Below you will find the details for this week (09/05-09/09):

Morning Rehearsals (7:00am – 8:30am)

There will not be morning rehearsals on the following two dates this week:

Monday, Sept 5: No rehearsal – Labor Day

Friday Sept 9: No rehearsal – Thursday game

Always have your dot book, pencil and instrument at every scheduled morning rehearsal!
Remember that ALL tutoring is to occur during lunch or after school during the marching season. Private lessons are also to be scheduled during band classes, lunch or after school. Speaking of private lessons, here is the link to our wonderful lesson staff. RISD provides some of the lowest cost rates in comparison to districts in the area ($18/30 minute lesson). Schedule your time today!

Remember to always fill out an absence report if you must miss a scheduled event. Excused absences dictated by the RISD policy (with no grade penalty) include:
medical emergency or illness
death in the family
religious holiday
family emergency
medical or dental appointment (doctors note must be provided)

*form is to be submitted by a parent/legal guardian only.

School Grades
Students and parents – as we enter into the 3rd week of school, make sure you are checking grades on FOCUS. RISD policy states that teachers are to put grades into the grade book 3 days after assignments have been turned in for minor grades and 5 for major. While the district is on a 9-week cycle (report card released), eligibility for marching band is still on a 6-week cycle. Please turn in all your assignments. Remember NO zeros!

Pass-offs
Wind players will be passing off movement II soon! Please practice the music and all visuals.

THURSDAY Morning Rehearsal
Remember that on game days (which happens to be on a Thursday this week) we rehearse with the Eaglettes. Bring your flip folders stuffed with this week’s drill team tune (which happens to be Bang Bang). Anyone who forget’s his/her flip folder and drill team tune at this rehearsal will automatically fail inspection for this week so make sure you remember!

The first AWAY football game of the year is coming up this THURSDAY night! As always, full details can be found on the Official Band Calendar at www.richardsonband.org.
