Hello GEB,

What an outstanding performance this past Friday on all accounts! Below you will find the details for this week (08/29-09/03):

Pass-offs
Wind players will be passing off movement I starting Tuesday. Please practice the music and all visuals with the click track that was sent in last week’s TWIGEB email.

Regular Rehearsals Continue!

Remember to always have your dot book, pencil and instrument at every rehearsal! Please have movement II memorized by Monday as we will start putting it all together with the drill.

ALL tutoring is to occur during lunch or after school during the marching season. Private lessons are also to be scheduled during band classes, lunch or after school.

Remember to always fill out an absence report if you must miss a scheduled event. Excused absences dictated by the RISD policy (with no grade penalty) include:

medical emergency or illness

Friday Morning Rehearsal
Remember that on game days we rehearse with the Eaglettes. Bring your flip folders stuffed with this week’s drill team tune (which happens to be Ain’t Nothin’ Wrong With That again). Anyone who forget’s his/her flip folder and drill team tune at this rehearsal will automatically fail inspection for this week so make sure you remember!
You can always find the “drill team tune” for the week by going to the Official Band Calendar at www.richardsonband.org.

March-a-thon
Please continue to ask everyone you encounter to support the GEB. If we want to continue to have the lowest band fees in the entire region, we MUST ALL participate. The goal for each student is $200. If you have received any donations from CORPORATE sponsors, they are to turn in their logo in vector format to marchathon@richardsonband.org by this Friday, September 2nd in order to be in the back of the shirt.

Section leaders – remember that we will be placing door hangers on the houses along the route this Saturday, September 3rd to advertise the upcoming March-a-thon event. The more advertising we can do, the more money we can raise on September 24th! We will meet in the band hall @ 9:00 am and should be done by 10:30 am at the latest.

Thank you,

Mr. Marquez
