RHS Band Family,

Here is this week’s edition of TWIGEB (This Week In the Golden Eagle Band)!

Pass-offs… want to try again?

Wind players can come and re-attempt show/pep-tune pass-offs for Mr. Linley after school on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursdays before 5:00pm. I can’t guarantee availability every day (some days there are meetings, etc), but I’ll do my best to be in my office between 4:10-5:00p those days for the next few weeks. If you drop by, I’ll be happy to fire up the click track for you.

In the mean time, want to practice step offs with the click track? You can download the click track (as well as sheet music, coordinate sheets and more) via Charms. Just go to the Documents section.

Having trouble logging into Charms? Contact Mr. Marquez who can reset your password.

RHS @ Wylie HS

The first AWAY football game of the year is coming up this Friday night. As always, full details can be found on the Official Band Calendar at

When the bell rings to release school, dinner will be served in the Eagles Nest for those who signed up for the meal plan. Please note that this is only for those who signed up for the Football Game meal plan.

Details for Away games are pretty similar to those for home games, only inspection is much earlier due to the travel time to Wylie. Unlike with home games, there is NO after party for away games. As a result, students are to be picked up 30 minutes from the time we arrive back at RHS. We will send out a Twitter message upon our departure from Wylie and arrival at RHS. You can follow us on twitter via @RHSGEB or you can check the twitter messages on our website at

The March-a-thon is quickly approaching – how is your fundraising coming? Just a reminder to be working on collecting your $200+ in pledges. The BEST addition for this year’s MAT is definitely the “party limo” for the top 20 earners. Want to ride in the limo for a portion of the march? Get out there and work hard as the top earners are already over $1000!

Don’t forget that the top “per-capita” earning section will also get to select a stands tune to add to our Friday night repertoire.

Details about the March-a-thon itself will be coming out in next week’s TWIGEB, but here is some basic information:

Inspection: 8:30am
March Begins: 9:00am
Expected End: 12:30pm
Lunch: 1:00pm

Summer Uniform: black band shorts, MAT T-Shirt, tennis shoes, athletic socks, black belt. Note that MAT T-Shirts have not yet been distributed. You will receive yours in class during the MAT week.

UIL Stadium Rehearsal

Just a friendly reminder about the most important marching rehearsal of the year: our Tuesday, Oct 13 Stadium Rehearsal 5-9pm – note that there is no school this day but we are still rehearsing with UIL two days away.

Let’s have another FANTASTIC show this week!
